Read here for a guide to Fixing the 402-935-7733 Or 4029357733 Code error on the Credit Card

One day, when I was checking my Credit Card statement after completing a transaction to book an escape room in Bangalore, I saw a mysterious payment directed from PayPal, with the number 402-935-7733. And guess what? I went into a panicked state because I thought this transaction was a fraud and somebody had hacked my account. Luckily, after conducting hours of research and doing mental gymnastics, I found the reason behind this strange number and why this situation had occurred to me in the first place. And to begin with, it was not even a fraudulent transaction.

It was like a fine to show I did not have enough credit balance in my PayPal account. This amount got deducted from my Credit Card because I did not have enough reserves to complete my automatic or recurring payment. And since I had saved my Credit Card as the secondary payment method, it got charged with the amount instead to complete the transaction.

Such a similar circumstance might have happened with most of us. Or it could be if we are not attentive. And we rarely have someone to familiarize us with the whole story behind it. That is why I’ve compiled a list of tips with steps to provide you with complete details about it. The guide given below would be helpful to you if you find yourself stuck in this position.

About PayPal and its working

PayPal is an online payment and transaction method that lets you send and receive money across countries. It provides a quicker and easier process to carry out the fund transfer from one nation to another without needing to use the wired approach. While creating your PayPal account for the first time, you get an option that asks you to add two backup payment methods to this new account.

These are your bank details and your Credit Card. After entering your bank details, PayPal sends a small amount of money to your bank. Then they ask you to tell them the amount they have sent you. It helps PayPal verify the authenticity and the ownership of your bank account.

For credit cards, an amount is auto-debited and then re-credited from your account to check the authenticity of your card. After the completion of both of these verification processes, your PayPal account is activated, and you can then use it to transfer and receive money.

About the 402-935-7733 PayPal transaction

There are some recurring subscriptions that PayPal lets you pay through your account. Every month, these amounts get automatically credited from your account, so you need to keep it topped up with some balanced funds. Therefore, every month when the date of the subscription arrives, PayPal prompts the automatic payment from your account. If you have the required money, it gets credited from your balance, and the process is over. You can check this activity by going to your PayPal account and then clicking on the activity option.

But, if your balance isn’t enough to fulfill the recurring subscription, PayPal uses your backup account, that is, your Credit Card, and charges the same amount with the transaction named 402-935-7733 PayPal. But the question arises about why PayPal doesn’t make a clear and proper statement about this transaction on the Credit Card. The truth is, that PayPal does not have control over the transaction process statements of your Credit cards. It is your bank that handles this process. As a result, the 4029357733 numbered transaction you see is issued by your bank in this specific format.

But if you feel that this transaction isn’t justified and appears as fraud to you, here’s what you can do about it:

Locate the transaction details immediately.

Log in to your PayPal account and go to the activity option. There you can see all the details about the credit and debit funds in your account. There are also Merchant IDs, Invoice IDs, etc., that you can use for your reference. So you can identify when, at what time, and to whom was this payment made.

Find the Merchant ID’s details.

Once you have found the transaction, click on its Merchant ID and find the merchant details. Once done, go to the inbox of your email. If there are any invoices from this merchant, verify the details. It could be an online commercial site like Amazon, Myntra, etc., or any other e-commerce store. Go to their accounts and see if you have placed an order with them in the past few days. After you find all the necessary details, verify for yourself. And if you haven’t ordered anything, you can file a complaint to the PayPal inquiry and complaint section.

If the account or the merchant details are a scam, immediately contact your bank about this fraudulent transaction and call or inform the PayPal office to register an objection regarding the matter. You can also ask your bank branch to block your Credit card to protect yourself from such wrongful money scams.

So, I hope that the 402-935-7733 charge transaction process is now clear to you. To avoid this occurrence in the future, keep your PayPal account topped with sufficient balance funds to meet the automatic subscription charges every month. Also, you might want to be more aware of which companies do such an automated recurring charge from your account.

Do a thorough background search for them before accepting their terms and conditions, and be careful before allowing these companies to withdraw money automatically from your account. If you think that your transactions link to a bogus source, do not hesitate to contact your bank and the PayPal office regarding this issue. They will refund your amount back to you and look into the matter.
