Buying a car is always an exciting but intimidating process due to the expense it always involves. My previous vehicle had good running, but it was nearing its capacity, so I wanted to buy a new car that would preferably last several years and fulfil my basic requirements.
Initial rounds of research helped me shortlist the type of my car to an SUV; it has space, it’s sturdy, and is perfect for road trips around the country. There were several contenders in the SUV category but based on my preferences, requirements, and reviews, I chose the Hyundai Tucson and now have nothing but praise for its power and performance.
Why I Chose the Hyundai Tucson
Following are the main reasons I chose Hyundai Tucson despite heavyweights like Nissan and Toyota being the leading competitors.
Affordability was a significant factor for me when deciding on which car to purchase, and it contributed to my final decision extensively. Tucson’s base price is the lowest compared to Nissan Rogue and Toyota RAV4, and the total cost for additional features is also more reasonable.
Fundamental analysis of comparable features showed me that I would not be missing out on much by choosing Tucson for its affordable price.
Safety has always been one of my primary concerns, especially since I travel extensively and through several terrains. The Tucson has several technologically advanced driver-assist features designed to keep the car, the driver, and the passengers safe. Following are some of the most prominent ones:
- Lane Keeping Assist
- Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist
- Driver Attention Warning
I also chose an upgraded version, so my Tuscon also has Blind-Spot Collision Warning and Pedestrian Detection, both of which come in handy when the traffic is heavy.
The All-Wheel-Drive feature is one to look out for since it is not available in cars of the same or similar price ranges. Like I mentioned previously, I drive my car on a range of terrains and encounter slopes on some of my drives.
The all-wheel drive allows me to engage all four wheels rather than only the front wheels, thus providing better traction to the drive. While the standard road is easy to move on, I have had an easier time driving on slippery roads with the all-wheel feature, even with just front wheels.
I spent over a month researching the features and considered reviews from people who had already purchased my shortlisted options and had posted about their experience. I was already inclined towards buying it, but the Hyundai Tucson reviews were excellent enough to have convinced me to buy it if I had been sceptical.
None of the owners is disappointed with the performance, and I am now a part of that list. Most were more surprised by how comfortable and spacious the car was. I am in awe of the ride quality, which is exceptionally smooth and makes me look forward to driving.
Luxurious and Spacious Interior
While I wasn’t particular about the interiors, Tucson has some of the most luxurious interiors. The car is spacious, and every component inside is sleek and gorgeous! Mine is black, which further enhances their look and gives them a premium appeal.
Both front and back passenger seats are spacious, making longer trips easier when I am travelling with people. The car also has impressive trunk capacity, which is helpful for camping trips or moving items from one place to another.
I am considering getting a trailer at some point in the future; therefore, I was also looking for towing ability in the final options. Tucson can pull a minimum of 1,500 pounds, and the upgraded versions can support up to 2,000 pounds of weight.
Since I was looking for a car that could effortlessly tow an average-sized trailer, this ability earned Hyundai Tucson several extra points.
Overall. Hyundai Tuscan is a good vehicle depending on the features you prioritise. It performed well on the aspects I value, and which I have mentioned in the article above. Therefore, the SUV was the best option for me. I recommend shortlisting criteria before deciding.
I hope my experience can guide you and help you determine the important features for buying the most suitable car for yourself. Make sure you check reviews for your short-listed options. It is always best to consider the advice of someone who has already experienced the car’s drive for at least a month.
